Poppies

Hello Everyone and a very Happy Easter.  I hoep you are all enjoying the break.

Today I am showing a card which was made for a very special lady.

As the lady concerned cannot see very well I have made the card with lots of different textures and also made it very bright.  What she cannot see her Daughter will talk her through.  the Happy Birthday words are secured with wires so they are moveable and with the poppies and bow adding more "touchy-feely" elements I hope it is just right.  I added black stickles to the centre of the poppy to give a raised and rough feeling to the picture.

Enjoy the rest of your Easter.  Kx

Lili of the Valley Baby Card

Hi Everyone

Hope you have all survived the awful snow - we have not had a lot here in Kent luckily but I feel for everyone who has and is still suffering.  I know we all love to talk about the weather here in the UK but come on it is time to stop messing around and give us some sunshine!!  Today I am showing you a card I have made a colleague who is now the proud Father of a baby boy who is yet to be given a name (that's why it has not been personalised).

I have used the lovely Lili of the Valley image "All our Dreams" which I have coloured with Copics.  Apologies for the shadows but hopefully you get the idea.  Believe it not it has been glittered and also has a touch of glossy accents but I think you will have to take my word for that.  The yellow sentiment is not as bright "in real life" as it looks in this photo.

Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments.

A Minature Wizard!

Hi Everyone - I have not been so good with the blogging lately as I have been so busy both at work and at home so have just collapsed in the evenings!

Today I am posting a card I made a long time ago.  I used a Lili of the Valley stamp which I think is just great for young boys.

As usual this was coloured with copics and I added a few magical embellishments.

I hope the weather is kind to you wherever you are and you  have a great weekend.  I am off to the Allhallows Crop tomorrow - a whole day crafting and gossiping - what more can a girl want?  Have fun and thanks to everyone for your very kind comments; they are all appreciated and are very encouraging.

Boat Scene

Hi Everyone and welcome back to my blog.  Today I am posting a card I have made for someone at my work for his birthday.  This stamp by Stamps Happen Inc was lent to me by my good friend Eileen and I am really pleased with the results as I wanted the card to look simple and "clean" which I think I have achieved.  Hope you like it.

Here is a bit more detail - hope you can see that I used Glossy Accents on the footprints to make them look wet.

I am going to have a crafting day tomorrow at one of Eileen's Workshops - it is bound to be great fun and it is always lovely spending the day with fellow crafters when we can swap ideas, drink tea, make cards and maybe, just maybe a bit of a gossip too!!!

Have a great weekend.

Lavinia Stamps and Distress Inks

Hi Everyone

Sorry I have been absent but it is really annoying when having to go to work gets in the way of crafting!  As Mother's Day is early this year I have had an extra busy time this is because I also have three birthdays at the same time!  Every evening I have come home had a microwave meal (Hubby is away on business and he usually does the cooking even though I have cooking certificates!!) and gone straight to the craft room.  Cards have now all been done so thought I would show you one plus a money wallet this evening.

The first is the money wallet - suddenly remembered I needed one as I was off to bed and so slapped around with the distress inks and added these stunning poppies from Lavinia Stamps and the card was complete in fifteen minutes!  Interestingly I also made a card for the same person and it was this money wallet she fell in love with.  The colours in real life are much deeper.

I then made this one for a male work colleague - no frills as it had to be posted and I was quite pleased with it.  I have been going along to some workshops run by my best crafty mate Eileen - check out her website here and if you can get in to any of workshops (they are always over-subscribed) do go along, they are great fun and you learn a lot too.  Eileen has introduced me to distress inks (and pan pastels) and I love them.

These are all Lavinia Stamps - they are so versatile and you can make some fantastic cards.  Remember to check out the Lavinia Challenge Blog as there is a fantastic prize for the winner.

Well I think I have said enough for one night and hopefully made up for my absence.  See you soon. Kx

Lavinia Stamps Challenge!

Hi All
It's here - the very first exciting Lavinia Stamps Challenge!  The first Challenge is "Anything Goes" so come along and enter the Lavinia Stamps Challenge for a chance to win the fantastic prize - £40 voucher to be spent on lovely Lavinia stamps - how great is that?

Here is my sample as part of the Design Team - I am so proud to be on the Team that I am going to mention it every opportunity I can get!

I used the oh so lovely "Sitting Fairy" which can be purchased here which I coloured with copics and added "stickles" to the wings to make them shine and cut out with a circle die which I then mounted on a slightly larger die.  The backing paper was from my stash and I added some corners, a computer generated greeting and a heart die cut which I embellished with a few gemstones.

Come along everyone and join in the fun and you could win this amazing prize.  Good Luck! Kx
